"D" is for Decisions

D ...  is for Decisions

Let's face it ... when you are a DIY'er it is one decision after another. So many factors to consider. Colors,   materials, cost, and time.

Here is how I make my decisions.

1. I look at my space and start drawing. On the walls, on napkins, on scape wood ... what ever is near me.
2. I search the internet for ideas.
3. I check sales, stores, internet to who has the best price for what I need.
4. I do not buy everything at one time. It is usually bought in stages.
     a) The base (framing, plywood, sheet rock, screws/nails ... what ever is needed)
     b) The finish (paint, tile, carpet, molding)
     c) The accessories (furniture, pictures, window treatments)

I usually work on my projects on the weekends but depending on the time constraints I have been known to work in the evenings after work. It is easier to work in the summer when it stays light longer.

So how do you make your decisions?

  1. Hi, nice to come across your blog. I make decisions by taking on calculated risks. As an entrepreneur you have to provide something that people need, but sometimes you just have to take risks, and then work as hard as possible to make things happen!

This is me, Duncan D. Horne, visiting you from the A-Z challenge, wishing you all the best throughout April and beyond.

  3. Hi BJ,
How do I make decisions? I usually do a lot of research and then I bounce ideas off my husband, but gut instinct plays a big part, too.

Thanks for your recent visit. Come back to visit soon!

  4. "D" would be the hardest for me. Or at least out of A, B, and C. Maybe not by the time we get to Z.

  5. I'm not great at making decisions; I think about the choices ALOT and then I just pick one because I know that if I hate it I can change it or I can adapt around my choice.
