Oh my gosh! Making a Blog Button was SOOOO time consuming for me ... although it did make the 6 hour drive home for me go quicker :) We were just in Door County, Wisconsin for a week vacation and I will be posting pictures of that later. This post is about my NEW Buttons that I just finished making :)
I found a great tutorial from The Mother Huddle and took copious notes. I set time aside to work on it (the drive home) and started first by going to Picnik. Oh ... picnik no longer exists! Hmmm. I quickly went to facebook to check in with my fellow bloggers and the first one suggested was Picmonkey. I now have a love/hate relationship with them. There was a learning curve, I goofed, goofed again another 200 times, and then success!!! ( Mr Man had to be in the same truck with me and my frustration! At one point he suggested wine. LOL)
First let me show you what I sketched as my idea ... Not the prettiest but you get the idea :)
It also held my notes on how to make my blog button. It now has a big fat line through it since I had to go with another option. I do have to say to Picmonkey's defense ... once you learn the ins and outs ... it is user friendly.
Here are my finished buttons ...

There was a lot of hair pulling so I may need to invest in a wig. :) I have to say that I am very happy with the way that they turned out. Not bad for a rookie!
This was also a good time for me to find a way to keep myself organized. I did it simply by buying a notebook and tabs. Here is what I came up with ...
I have just started to use it (I am tweeking "how" I use it) but I think it is going to work. It is inexpensive, easy, and functional. What more could a girl ask for? :)
If you have learned a good way to keep your "blog organized" be sure to leave a comment and tell me about it! I need all kinds of help :)
Hugs,
I have a book just like that BJ!

I need to start a blog organizing journal. Great Idea!!
ReplyDeleteI tried Picmonkey but I like Photoscape better. It's free, too and the collages go on forever. To make a collage go into PAGE and you will see all the different configurations for collages. There are lots of them. Then you just bring up your images and drag and drop. I'm always making collages now. Here is the post I did on Photoscape. Hope you like it.

Oh, and thanks about the blog button. I need to make one. I'll try it in Photoscape and see... it's the HTML that worries me. Best wishes, Linda
The pictures aren't there anymore :(
ReplyDeleteOh nevermind, I see them in the side bar--very nice!
