Garage Door and Paint :)

We have garage doors that we want to replace. We want windows at the top to let in light and of course to make our doors look (in our view) a bit better and not so plain. You may remember that I discussed this and posted pics of different styles and of course the one that we liked {here}

This is what we have ...

And since we have been changing the paint on the front door entry way (getting rid of the Ranger Station green),  I continued using my paint brush on the trim around the garage doors. The previous owners had two different colors going that didn't match. Ack! My eyes are bleeding! 

Mr. Man being the trooper that he is and wanting to hang out with me, but wanting to stay busy, decided that the garage doors could be buffed with "Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound". Taking away the oxidation that the weather will do to the doors and giving it back it's richer color.

The new Brown color around the trim! and ... see the dent in the door that some neighborhood teenager did? Mr Man pounded it out with his fist so as not to ruin the insulation on the inside. Mr Man is a keeper! 

The left side is buffed and you can tell really see the difference in the two doors. I love the darker richer color!!!

So ... we have our address number on the front of the house and I saw that it was a blue gray color. Hmmm, how could I have never noticed it before?! and suggested to Mr. Man that we change the blue to match the front door. He was not sure that it was a good idea even though I was giving him my best, "Come on ... be brave, let's change it" look. He had an errand to run and right before he left he said, "Your going to paint it when I am gone, aren't you?" I replied, "Yup! We can always change it if you really don't like it". As soon as he left I ran into the house and the first small brush that came to mind to use, was one of my makeup brushes! Um, Marci? I need a new "Bare Essentials" makeup brush. For my eyeshadow. LOL, Hint ;)

Mr Man and I (both) love it. It is a subtle thing but it ties in the color with the front door.

While I was looking at the house to take this picture, I noticed my flag pole was a light plastic color and didn't look very good. 

Yup, I did! I painted it with a bronze hammered spray paint ...

My flag is so much happier with it's regal looking pole.
