Mr. Man and I moved into our home 3 years ago this June. What fun it has been to be here and make this house our home! This was actually the MLS picture ...
and this is what my living room looks like now!
Some of the touches along the way included Wood blinds and shear material draped at the windows. Shelves (from The Container Store) added above the piano. More pictures below ...
What is on your coffee table? :)
I hope you enjoyed the "journey" of my living room and now I am linking to ...

Right now I'm using my husband's mom's old cedar chest. She passed away before I met him in 1987. We had the hopechest under the window in my daughter's room. It held all the stuffed animals. Now it has magazines and that's about it. My hopechest is to the right of it but sideways under the living room window. lol 3 have a huge steamer trunk in the opposite corner (too many chests).
ReplyDeleteNormally I have been using my grandparent's coffee table from Sweden. It was up high so you could eat off it easily. Right now the wood is stripped, where the legs are attached and it's being stored in the garage. My sister has tried to fix it but we have to figure something else (it was a project put aside for now).
My coffee table is naked.

I love the piano and the beautiful lantern : o ) So pretty!
ReplyDeleteBJ, thanks for letting us into your home. I so love seeing other people's lives up close. Your living room is beautiful and spacious, how nice. Lots to fiddle with and change around and redo and updo over the years. It fun to look back at all the different ways mine has looked over time. Almost as interesting as the hair style changes. Ha! Thanks for stopping over to leave me such an encouraging note about the rascal. Those casters came in handy today. Huge storm. I was able to roll him to a dry spot too. :) See you soon!

You have a beautiful home, so much room! Everything looks lovely. I have to keep our coffee table empty right now ( we have a new puppy) and he keeps knocking things off, giggle. Hopping over from the newbie party XO
ReplyDeleteYour living you looks much more comfy than the MLS picture! Great job. By the way I am hosting a giveaway of a great digital scrapbooking software, I would love for you to stop by and check it out. http://californiahomedreaming.blogspot.com/2012/05/my-memories-suite-giveaway.html
ReplyDeleteI love it! Did you paint your piano or was it white to begin with? I saw a painted piano the other day, which is why I'm asking. Also, it looks like you can see downstairs from your living room.l If so, is it just pictures that you have there? I have nothing on mine and it's driving me crazy!
ReplyDeleteOh, and a basket of baseballs is on my coffee table!
Your living room looks very cozy! Also, I was wondering what color your walls are? I have been looking for a color to paint my dining room and I love the cheerful color of your living room walls! :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
DeleteThe color was on the walls when we moved in 3 years ago so I don't have a name. It is a yellow/Gold color. Sorry I am not more help! Thank you for stopping by and when you paint your living room … send me a pic. I would love to see it!
Hugs,
Bj
Thanks, Bj! At least I have an idea now which way I want to go with the color, lol. Seeing your living room convinced me! :)
DeleteBj, your living room tour is so fantastic. I love the wall color, and all your pretty touches. The planter bike is adorable. Thanks for sharing with the newbie party.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your living room tour with us @ Toot Your Horn Tuesday. I especially love the bicycle planter and the lantern...so cute! Look forward to what you link up next!
