S ... is for Sanding
Back in the day, all I used was flat sandpaper. Was there anything else? Not according to my dad!
Then I purchased a sanding block and thought .... this is the best thing ever! Am I right?! So much more control and easier on the hands.
As time went on ... I purchased an electric sander ... Woo Hoo, I was in the big time now!!! :) This was not the exact model, as it was so long ago, I don't even remember anything but the shape and color. Mine was black and silver, and had a rectangular base, but you get the idea!
Three years ago, I started to refinish a few things and really did need a new sander to help with the work. Miss Precious was about to be born and I had furniture that needed to be done for her nursery. My next sander purchase was this ...
Sorry Ryobi, although I am in love with your other products ... this one was NOT my fave. In fact, this was about the time I started reading blogs on various subjects. Mainly, sanding and refinishing furniture. I think Centsational Girl was the blog I read about the orbital sander. (That she uses one and how much she loved it.) If you are looking for a great website that does orbital sander reviews ... I have the place. This is what Orbital Sander Reviews had to say about the one I wanted to buy.
This is the one I purchased ...
and, it is the one I am using to "Restore" my trunk! I HIGHLY recommend it!
(I do not work for, nor am I paid in any way by this company. Just my own opinions)
What kind of sander do you use? Do you recommend it? Why?
Have a great Saturday!
I am going to have to come back to read about your sander opinions. I keep coming back to sand paper by hand, so I must be missing out.
